July 12: Departure Day, New York City to Paris

Group Meeting:
At 4:00 PM, meet your trip leader and fellow students at the Air France check-in counter (outside of security) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).  This is the official start of your National Geographic Student Expeditions program!

Group Flight:
The group will fly on Air France flight #007 departing New York City (JFK) at 7:05 PM, arriving in Paris, France (CDG), on July 13 at 8:30 AM local time (7 hours 30 minutes en route).

July 13 – July 22: Paris

From our home in the heart of Paris, students work in small groups and set out on daily photo shoots with our National Geographic Photographer Tino Soriano amid some of the most iconic landmarks in the world.

Spend time in our classroom, learning to improve your technical skills, then take to the streets in small groups to practice what you’ve learned. Capture the city’s extraordinary architecture, the pulse of modern day life, and elegant monuments. In the evenings, we review our day’s work, then photograph Paris at night. On certain evenings, our National Geographic photographer and photography instructors will hold seminars to discuss their professional experience.

July 22: Gallery Opening

We conclude our workshop in Paris with a Gallery Opening. Together, we will organize, curate, and install an exhibition of large-format prints of the group’s best work. Celebrate your growth as a photographer and share the stories behind your images!  Family and friends are invited to attend the opening.

July 23: Return Day, Paris to New York City

The group will fly on Air France flight #022 from Paris, France (CDG), at 8:20 AM local time, returning to the International Arrivals Area of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 10:30 AM (8 hours 15 minutes en route).
